Join Alinta Energy’s Power Development team as a Planning & Environment Manager, leading the approvals workstream for major renewable and firming energy projects across the East Coast. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing approval strategies, working closely with development managers and a range of stakeholders to deliver projects that support Alinta’s growth and decarbonisation goals. This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role, ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, strategic thinking, and making a tangible difference in the energy sector. The position is based in Sydney or Melbourne, with occasional travel required.

What you'll do
- Develop and implement approvals strategies for large-scale energy projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, regulatory authorities, consultants, and community stakeholders
- Oversee project delivery, managing risks and ensuring compliance throughout the development lifecycle
- Mentor and lead a small team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and high performance
- Promote best practice in planning and environment standards, contributing to continuous improvement and industry leadership
Your experience
- 10+ years managing approvals for major infrastructure projects, with expertise in NSW and federal planning systems
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with diverse stakeholders, including regulators and community groups
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing technical reports and regulatory documentation
- Demonstrated leadership and experience developing high-performing teams
- Strategic, proactive, and collaborative approach to problem-solving and project delivery
