About the role:

We are presently in search of a Project Development Engineer to join our Power Development team situated in Melbourne. This position reports to the Project Development Manager and is responsible for spearheading pioneering power solutions aimed at enhancing business expansion and efficacy through selected wind farm initiatives within the National Energy Market (NEM). It contributes to the progression of new projects from inception to investment readiness.

In this role, you’ll be:

  • Support the business development team during ideation, pre-feasibility, and feasibility study phases for prospective development projects.
  • Provide high level and detailed technical support for all engineering development project work.
  • Manage EPC contract procurement processes and lead development of the Principal’s Project Requirements (functional specification)
  • Monitor progress and initiate remedial action where required to ensure the engineering aspects of development projects are completed on time, within quality requirements and within budget.
  • Prepare schedules for design work and allocate physical and human resources to enable engineering projects to be completed on time and within budget.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

  • Tertiary degree qualification in renewable energy engineering.
  • Professional member, chartered member, or fellow of Engineers Australia.
  • Previous post graduate experience in wind farm project development.
  • Project development experience within the National Energy Market (NEM).
  • Experience in field work and wind turbine micro-siting in regional Australia.
  • Professional experience using windPRO and WASP design software.
  • Extensive experience engaging with stakeholders (landowners, planners, and equipment suppliers).

This is a great opportunity to join the Power Development team and entails a blend of broad engineering expertise along with a specialized emphasis on the renewable energy engineering facets of wind farm ventures. It involves orchestrating collaborations with landholders, urban planners, and equipment vendors.
