About the role:

The Senior Compliance Advisor is the first point of contact for day-to-day Compliance-related queries from Alinta Energy’s retail business and provides generalist support on matters regarding compliance with legal and regulatory retail frameworks.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Providing comprehensive generalist compliance advice, necessary coaching and support to the retail business on all retail compliance related matters.
• Assessing potential compliance breaches, and as required, assisting with the preparation and reporting of compliance reports.
• Supporting business units in addressing trends and non-compliance issues and ensuring agreed actions are implemented within reasonable timeframes.
• Performing regular and ongoing trend analysis of compliance data identifying areas of improvement.
• Establishing a positive compliance-business partnership with the retail business and develop an understanding of Alinta Energy’s internal compliance direction, and the processes and actions required to support the achievement of overall business goals.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

• Experience as a Compliance Advisor in the retail energy sector.
• A legal background or exposure to legal environments.
• Experience with retail energy marketing and advertising requirements  is highly advantageous.
• Experience in conducting investigations, analysis of performance, compliance trends and introducing improvements.
• Strong communication skills including writing and presenting, as well as the ability to build meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
