About the role:

Reporting to the Commercial & Contracts Manager, the Procurement Advisor is responsible for the power generation procurement arrangements which primarily involves:  

  • the negotiation, drafting and finalisation of terms and conditions through to contract execution.
  • ensuring procurement and FIRB compliance policies are adhered to; and
  • collaboration with engineering, operations, and legal teams to reach the desired procurement and commercial outcomes.

Additionally, the role will involve providing input for an 18-month forward view of the capital works program, along with streamlining current procurement processes.  

In this role, you’ll be:

  • Supporting upfront commercial negotiation, drafting and finalization of terms and conditions through to contract execution.
  • Overseeing the power generation FIRB compliance and procurement policies and ensuring they are adhered to.
  • Acquire and ensure prompt and cost-effective delivery of equipment and materials by arranging for commercial and technical evaluation bids.
  • Contribute to the development of the procurement strategy for power generation's 18-month forecast of its capital works program.
  • Raise the overall commercial acumen of the operations and engineering groups by educating them on procurement policy and procedures.

Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:

  • Have a tertiary degree in business, commerce, engineering, or law.
  • Extensive senior level experience in procurement and contract administration, with a particular focus on efficient drafting of contracts.
  • Experience and expertise in supply chain methodologies, strategic analysis, and implementation, including proficiency in risk analysis.
  • Significant experience developing contracting, and procurement plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contract management by autonomously overseeing all aspects of existing contracts and agreements.
