About Braemar Power Station
Located 35km southwest of Dalby in Southern Queensland, Braemar Power Station is a 560MW open-cycle gas turbine plant, strategically positioned to support Queensland’s energy needs. With our dedicated pipeline and compression facility, we ensure efficient and reliable energy production.
The Role: More than just maintenance
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Operations & Maintenance Technician to join our Braemar Power Station team. In this role, you won’t just maintain and operate plant equipment—you’ll also play a key role in managing administrative tasks and project management responsibilities to drive projects to successful completion.
Your contributions will directly impact the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our power station, making this a dynamic and fulfilling position.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure the safety of yourself and your team by following AlintaSafe practices.
- Support and execute the annual maintenance work plan and capital projects to maximise plant performance.
- Perform equipment operations, maintenance, and fault-finding to ensure high reliability.
- Isolate plant and equipment, issue Permit to Work’s, as required by Maintenance Schedule or plant requirements.
- Contribute to cost-effective and efficient plant operations.
What you’ll bring:
- QLD electrical licence or the ability to obtain one.
- Cert III in Instrumentation (or equivalent) – highly desirable.
- EEHA certification (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas).
- Experience with PLC systems, high voltage networks, switching, and maintenance (desirable).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex machinery and systems.
- Power generation, gas turbine, and industrial rotating equipment experience (a plus!).
