About the role

As a Junior Settlements Analyst at Alinta, you will support the accurate capture and reconciliation of Electricity, Gas, Environmental, Treasury, Futures, and OTC trades within our trading systems. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates looking to kickstart their career in finance, providing hands-on experience in a dynamic environment where you can learn and grow.

What you'll do:

• Assist in capturing and validating trade details to ensure system accuracy and compliance.
• Help record transactions through journals, and receivable and payable invoices.
• Support month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Participate in cross-training initiatives within the Settlements Team to enhance your skills.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external counterparties to facilitate smooth operations.

Your experience:

• Recent graduate or studying towards a degree in commerce, economics, mathematics, data science, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage workload priorities.
• Hands-on experience in Excel (advanced) and SQL coding (desirable)
