About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager for our New Markets business based in Melbourne. This sales-focused position aims to develop customer-centric opportunities for users of energy in the mining, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. You will drive high-value sales related to Behind the Meter & grid-connected Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems, with solutions that are owned and operated by Alinta Energy.

What you'll do:
Develop and implement strategic business development practices to expand our Solar PV & BESS sales
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, interacting with all levels of businesses, including CEO level
Showcase the relevance of microgrid solutions to clients, influencing their energy strategy decisions
Utilise effective sales methodologies to navigate the art of relationship-building and secure high-value contracts
Collaborate with internal teams to align business strategies and enhance service delivery
Your experience
Proven track record in new business development within strategic, long lead time, high value sales environments within the energy sector (highly desirable)
Strong strategic account planning and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior executives at large organisations
Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing complex relationships with various partners and vendors
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of a business
Creativity and innovation in problem-solving, with a comprehensive understanding of Australian and international energy markets
