About the role

The Financial Analyst – Performance Reporting will provide timely and accurate reports to help the Merchant Energy leadership understand performance, gain insights, and make effective decisions. Critical to the role’s success is building strong relationships with business stakeholders and Group Finance and fostering a team culture aligned Alinta Energy’s values. The role demands a strong focus on working relationships to achieve required outcomes and an understanding of key business drivers.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in developing and maintaining reporting incorporating financial and non-financial information explaining business performance to support G&D Leadership team, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate and prepare the monthly management reporting pack for the Generation & Development business as well as mid-month flash reporting
  • Collaborate with accounting team through financial close process to improve timeliness and accuracy of financial information
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and deep dives into areas requiring further insight and investigation
  • Prepare overhead budgets and forecasts for G&D business units
  • Leverage tools including PowerBI to automate and improve reporting processes

Your experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the full range of either financial and/or management accounting or analytical activities – including general accounting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including business or commerce degree
  • Membership of professional accounting including CPA or CA
  • Experience in a capital-intensive industry such as energy, construction or mining industry

Please note this role requires Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, or Australia Permanent Residency.

This role is best suited to a proactive team player with an interest in large scale development projects and a strong track record of relationship building across a variety of stakeholders.
