About the role
As a Business Intelligence Analyst within the Commercial - Mass Markets team in our Retail Markets business, you’ll play a key role in transforming fragmented data into actionable insights. Sitting at the intersection of product analytics across web, mobile sales and marketing, , this role is instrumental in deepening our understanding of commercial analytics across multiple product funnels, as we advance our vision of a data-led customer & product experience.
Working closely with the Data & Digital Insights Manager, you’ll apply strategic thinking and technical expertise to optimise how we engage with and serve customers throughout their lifecycle focusing on the moments that matter as we drive profitable engagement and seek to minimize customer churn. Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights will drive business success, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, alignment, and influence as you take ownership of the storytelling narratives

What you’ll do
- Develop end-to-end analytics solutions that connect Digital usage patterns across our different technology stacks , enabling visibility into how digital tools are driving operational efficiency through product feature adoption
- Design and automate reporting solutions using Python and SQL to deliver real-time insights into customer activities, sales performance, and digital product journeys across Web and Mobile funnels
- Support the launch of new digital mobile capabilities by providing data-driven recommendations that help minimise customer contact and optimise Alinta’s cost base as it evolves toward a hybrid SaaS operating model
- Collaborate across commercial, product, sales, and marketing teams to translate business questions into prioritised analytics requests and actionable insights
- Maintain robust data governance and documentation for Power BI dashboards and Google Big Query schemas, ensuring clarity and consistency across reporting assets
- Drive adoption of analytics tools by facilitating training workshops and serving as a key contact for dashboard functionality and data interpretation
Your experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar data analytics or business intelligence role, with a track record of independently managing analytical projects from concept to delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to quickly understand and adapt existing scripts with minimal handover.
- Strong capability in Power BI for developing dashboards and visualising complex datasets to support business decision-making.
- Hands-on experience with basic ETL processes (i.e. Extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources and merging datasets to create unified reporting views
- Practical experience extracting data from API streams (i.e. GA4 or similar), and helping to persist this into temporary tables in Databricks in environments with limited automation.
- Solid understanding of data governance and documentation practices, with the ability to maintain clarity and consistency across reporting assets in agile, fast-paced environments.
