Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.

We understand that flexibility matters when considering your next role. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll carefully consider how we might accommodate them.

Ready to make a real impact?

Join our Data & AI team and help support the cloud platforms, automation and engineering capabilities that enable data-driven decision making across Alinta Energy. Working alongside experienced DevOps professionals, you'll play a hands-on role building automation, supporting Azure and Databricks environments, and helping teams deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions while developing your own technical expertise.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia — and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you’ll do

  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows and automation using GitHub Actions
  • Writing and supporting automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and Bash across cloud platforms
  • Contributing to Terraform-based infrastructure as code solutions for Azure and Databricks environments
  • Supporting monitoring, troubleshooting and operational activities across the Data & AI platform
  • Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders while continuously improving documentation, automation assets and engineering practices.

Your experience

  • Experience in DevOps, cloud operations, platform engineering or a similar technical environment
  • Proficiency with Python and experience developing automation or scripting solutions
  • Exposure to Git, pull requests, code reviews and modern software delivery practices
  • Experience using GitHub Actions, Terraform or comparable CI/CD and infrastructure as code tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and an interest in cloud platforms, Databricks and AI-enabled engineering tools.

Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.

This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys solving technical problems, automating manual processes and learning from experienced engineers. You'll bring a curious mindset, a strong technical foundation and a desire to build your DevOps capability in a supportive and collaborative team.
