As an Energy Pricing Analyst at Alinta Energy, you’ll support the development and delivery of retail pricing outcomes across the business. Sitting within the Pricing Strategy team in Retail Markets, this role works across multiple states and segments, contributing to both the annual pricing review and broader commercial projects. You’ll analyse cost drivers and market trends, model pricing outcomes and support key pricing decisions in a complex, regulated energy environment. This role will be suited to someone who enjoys analytical problem‑solving, commercial thinking and working in an outcomes‑driven, project‑based setting.
Why you’ll love working here
At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia - and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.
There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.
What you'll do
- Analyse and model retail energy pricing outcomes, including supporting the annual price variation process
- Develop a strong understanding of cost drivers (wholesale, network, regulatory) and their impact on pricing and margins
- Maintain and enhance pricing models, tools and dashboards to support commercial decision‑making
- Identify opportunities to improve adherence to existing pricing processes, reporting and analytical efficiency
- Partner with IT, Product, Finance, Wholesale and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely pricing insights
Your experience
- Experience in pricing, commercial analysis or a related analytical role
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability, with advanced Excel and financial‑modelling skills
- Ability to work with large and complex data sets with high attention to detail
- Commercial acumen - able to link analysis to business outcomes and strategy
- Experience working in fast‑paced or regulated environments (energy experience advantageous but not essential)
Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
