As a member of the Alinta Energy Retail Markets group, the Network & Metering Analyst role is dedicated to supporting BAU processes for the department. They will ensure BAU activities, issue resolution and in-box management is completed across the chosen customer group. Problem solving, working through volumes of tasks, attention to detail and accuracy of data is critical to ensure optimal customer experience and service provided align with Alinta Energy’s goals and values. This role works closely with all internal colleagues and any third-party vendors and government agencies.
This role is a 6-month max term contract, part time 0.6FTE, 3 days per week. The working days for this role are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

What you’ll do
- Perform daily network and metering tasks to support business-as-usual (BAU) operations, including issue resolution and inbox management for customer and operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues, third-party vendors, and government agencies to deliver BAU activities and resolve enquiries, ensuring optimal customer experience.
- Analyse operational processes and data to identify improvements, provide key insights, and produce accurate business reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support compliance by liaising with relevant stakeholders, maintaining industry contact listings, and assisting with projects.
- Develop and update process documentation and work instructions to support ongoing business activities.
Your experience
- Experience within metering operations, metering partner, energy retailer or network business environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate Excel and PowerBi skills
- Ability to break down problems to understand them, prioritises and interpret alternatives and develop innovative and creative solutions
- Experience and demonstrated success working to resolve issues and exceptions in a retail energy context
- Specific experience reviewing and interpreting energy markets
- Ability to investigate process & systems issues as required with attention to detail
Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
This role is best suited to an experienced metering operator with a high attention to detail.
