About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Indigenous Engagement and Community Manager to join our Corporate Services team on a 12-month maternity cover.  Reporting to the General Manager – Safety, Sustainability and Insurance, they will improve Alinta’s social performance by contributing to the development of an Alinta Energy Indigenous Engagement Strategy with key stakeholders across the business and ensuring compliance with existing contractual requirements on indigenous engagement.

Additional responsibilities will include:  

  • Establishing an Indigenous Engagement working group.
  • Growing a national network of Alinta volunteers to support employee engagement.
  • Chairing the Community Development Committee.
  • Contributing to related entity community committees, which includes Yandin WF and LVP.

To be successful you will have: 

  • Strong competencies in social performance and communities.
  • Experienced in working with Traditional Owners and Indigenous communities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that can develop trusting and collaborative relationships, proactive networking and action focused communication with a diverse range of people in cross functional teams.
  • Flexibility and preparedness to travel.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. Social Performance, Corporate Affairs, Community Investment/Projects, Sustainability, Communications or relevant professional experience in a similar industry).
