Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.

We understand that flexibility matters when considering your next role. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll carefully consider how we might accommodate them.

Ready to make a real impact?

Partner with Technology and Facilities leaders to provide forward-looking financial insight that drives performance and complex decision making. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on analysis to translate strategy into driver-based budgets, forecasts and actionable insights. You will improve reporting and planning through smarter models, leading indicators, automation and better data quality.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia — and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you’ll do

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology and Facilities, providing constructive challenge grounded in evidence and sound assumptions.
  • Lead monthly performance reporting for Opex, Projects and FTE, including clear commentary on drivers, variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders to develop driver-based budgets and forecasts aligned to strategic plans, including scenario analysis and key driver reviews.
  • Maintain visibility of the project portfolio (pipeline and in-flight), including financial status, forecasts and key risks/issues.
  • Support business cases, including investment evaluation, benefits/value realisation and sensitivity analysis, in line with governance requirements.
  • Continuously improve finance models, processes and reporting through standardisation, automation, improved data quality and leading indicators.

Your experience

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline
  • CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification
  • Strong experience in commercial finance, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
  • Advanced financial modelling and business case capability
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.

Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.

This role suits a high-impact finance partner who loves being close to the action—building trusted relationships with senior leaders, challenging thinking with evidence, and helping steer major technology and facilities investments with clear, insight-led reporting.
