Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.

We understand that flexibility matters when considering your next role. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll carefully consider how we might accommodate them.

Ready to make a real impact?

As a Product Manager, you will own the direction and performance of a defined product portfolio within Alinta Energy’s Retail Markets business. You’ll be accountable for your product roadmap end to end - determining priorities, leading product strategy and discovery, and managing initiatives through their full lifecycle from ideation to optimisation and retirement. Operating in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment, this role is focused on solving meaningful customer and commercial problems, with strong organisational investment in product capability and clear opportunities to grow scope and impact as the function scales.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia — and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you'll do

  • Own and maintain a rolling product roadmap, making deliberate prioritisation and trade‑off decisions grounded in customer insight, commercial value and strategic alignment
  • Lead product strategy and structured discovery, from problem definition through to evidence‑based recommendations and clearly defined success measures
  • Partner closely with Finance, Pricing, Customer Strategy, Marketing, Digital, Legal and Compliance to shape viable, data‑led product outcomes
  • Monitor product and segment performance using dashboards and analytics, identifying risks, opportunities and monthly optimisation actions
  • Produce clear, decision‑ready strategy, discovery and market monitoring outputs to inform prioritisation and performance discussions across the business

Your experience

  • Proven experience owning and prioritising a product or segment roadmap with accountability for commercial outcomes
  • Strong capability leading product strategy and structured discovery, including customer problem definition and opportunity sizing
  • High confidence working with data and dashboards (e.g. Power BI), translating insight into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Well‑developed commercial acumen, with the ability to operate independently and make sound judgement calls in ambiguous environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing stakeholders through clarity, evidence and insight

Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
