This role sits within the Security Risk team and supports the organisation’s cyber security risk management through control gap analysis, risk triage and formal risk assessments across technology and business environments.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia — and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you’ll do

  • Conducting cyber security risk triage, analysis and assessments across business and technology environments
  • Identifying and documenting risks and control gaps, and recommending remediation actions
  • Facilitating risk discussions with SMEs, control owners and business stakeholders
  • Applying control frameworks including Essential Eight and AECSF in risk assessments
  • Producing clear risk reporting and supporting continuous improvement of risk processes

Your experience

  • Proven experience in cyber security risk and control gap assessments, including facilitating risk workshops
  • Strong understanding of applying control frameworks such as AECSF in risk assessments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Relevant certifications such as CRISC or CISSP, or exposure to GRC tools and risk systems are advantageous

Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.

This role is best suited to a proactive individual who is confident leading discussions, working across stakeholders, and delivering clear, outcomes-focused risk assessments.
