What you’ll do

  • Supporting the development, refresh and ongoing maintenance of Alinta Energy’s corporate strategy and Five-Year Plan 
  • Conducting market, customer, competitor and industry analysis to develop insights and strategic recommendations 
  • Assessing acquisition, investment and partnership opportunities through financial modelling, business cases, valuation analysis and due diligence support 
  • Analysing capital allocation priorities, portfolio performance and proposed investments against strategic, risk and value creation criteria 
  • Preparing clear presentations, briefing papers and decision-support materials for Executive, Board, shareholder and governance forums. 

Your experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline 
  • Two to five years’ experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, corporate finance, investment banking, commercial advisory or a related analytical role 
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving capability, including financial modelling, business case development and commercial analysis 
  • Experience in market analysis, competitor assessment and strategic research, with energy, utilities, infrastructure or industrial sector experience viewed favourably 
  • Excellent PowerPoint, storylining and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes.

This role is suited to a commercially minded analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, working across functions and translating detailed analysis into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers.
