We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join Alinta Energy’s Power Generation Engineering team, supporting a diverse portfolio of generation assets across WA and nationally. While this role is scoped at Senior Electrical Engineer level, we’re also open to appointing an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong technical capability.
The role spans the full lifecycle of power generation assets, from operational support and asset management through to new assets build and upgrade projects. You’ll work closely with site based operations, development teams and external partners, providing practical, high quality electrical engineering advice in a live 24/7 environment, while contributing to improved standards, stronger grid compliance and greater consistency across the portfolio.

What you'll do
- Provide electrical engineering expertise across HV and LV systems, acting as a technical authority for operational and project based decisions
- Support operational sites with fault finding, support with planned and unplanned outage works, risk management and asset reliability across generation assets
- Contribute to grid compliance, generator performance standards and protection systems
- Develop, maintain and improve electrical engineering standards and asset management practices
- Support capital projects and new assets, including design review, commissioning support and integration into operations
Your experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, with experience in power generation, utilities or a closely related energy environment
- Strong technical grounding across electrical systems, with exposure to HV/LV equipment, protection systems and compliance requirements
- Experience providing practical engineering support in operational or project environments
- Ability to engage effectively with operational teams and stakeholders, balancing technical rigour with commercial and safety priorities
- Comfortable working flexibly in a 24/7 operational setting, with a collaborative and resilient approach
