Join our Finance team as a Payroll Officer and help deliver accurate, compliant and timely payroll outcomes. Reporting to the Team Leader, Payroll, you’ll process payroll inputs and changes, maintain employee records, resolve routine enquiries and support reconciliations and controls. You’ll work closely with Finance, People & Culture, Reward and other stakeholders in a team that values accuracy, calm delivery and asking questions early

What you’ll do
- Processing payroll inputs, changes, timesheets, ad hoc payments, entitlements and routine termination calculations
- Validating data, completing peer checks and reconciling employee pay and leave information
- Resolving routine payroll enquiries and escalating discrepancies or complex matters to the Team Leader
- Applying routine award, legislative, privacy and information security requirements
- Collaborating with Finance, People & Culture and other stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement.
Your experience
- At least three years’ payroll experience with current knowledge of payroll processes and relevant Australian requirements
- Experience working accurately to pay-cycle deadlines within a service-focused team
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence managing stakeholder enquiries
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and numeracy skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Definitiv and complex multi-award or multi-entity payroll experience are advantageous.
Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.
This role will suit a hands-on payroll professional who stays calm under pressure, takes ownership of accuracy and contributes to a team outcome. You’ll be comfortable following direction, using initiative and asking questions when something is unclear.
