Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy.

We understand that flexibility matters when considering your next role. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll carefully consider how we might accommodate them.

Ready to make a real impact?

Join Alinta Energy’s Retail Commercial team and take ownership of the performance and relationships of a national portfolio of third-party digital and telesales channel partners. You will work closely with each partner to understand sales, retention, churn, customer lifetime value, cost, quality and compliance performance, then translate those insights into practical improvement plans. The role combines detailed portfolio analysis with day-to-day relationship and contract management, partner coaching, forecasting and commercial decision support. You will also contribute to due diligence, business cases and the assessment of new channel opportunities, balancing outcomes for customers, partners and Alinta Energy in a market that continues to change.

Why you’ll love working here

At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia — and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.

There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including flexible working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a critical portfolio of third-party digital and telesales channels, ensuring partners have the information, support and direction needed to represent Alinta Energy effectively
  • Monitor and analyse sales volumes, retention, churn, customer lifetime value, acquisition cost, quality and compliance performance to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop partner-specific sales and engagement strategies, agree measurable actions and track progress against commercial, customer and compliance KPIs
  • Build trusted partner relationships while constructively challenging performance gaps and working toward sustainable financial outcomes for all parties
  • Coach channel partners and coordinate targeted product, sales and customer capability support to strengthen performance and selling quality
  • Manage contract renewals, variations, commission arrangements, due diligence activities and ongoing partner obligations
  • Support forecasting, performance reporting and business cases for new channels, initiatives and investment decisions

Your experience

  • Extensive channel management experience in energy or another highly competitive retail sector is critical to success in this role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage third-party sales partners, improve performance and balance commercial, customer, quality and compliance outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing capability, with confidence working through challenging partner conversations
  • Experience interpreting detailed performance data, identifying portfolio pain points and converting insights into clear actions
  • Practical experience in forecasting, performance reporting, sales process management and working to agreed targets and KPIs
  • Sound commercial and financial capability, including experience with contracts, commission structures, deal terms and business cases
  • Highly organised and detail focused, with the self-motivation to manage competing priorities and travel interstate when required

Please note this role requires full working rights within Australia.

This role will suit a proactive, commercially minded channel manager who enjoys working at both a detailed analytical level and a relationship level. Energy experience is highly regarded, while relevant experience in telecommunications, insurance or another competitive retail environment may also be suitable. You will bring energy, sound judgement and a practical approach to improving partner performance in a fast-changing market.
